MASS 2026 Strategy: A Smarter, Community-Driven Approach to Growth, Visibility, and Impact

As we move into 2026, Minority AIDS Support Services (MASS) is intentionally evolving how we approach fundraising, community engagement, and program visibility.

This is not about doing more. It is about doing what works.

With shifts in funding and increasing demand for accessible, stigma-free services, MASS is implementing a more strategic, diversified model that prioritizes:

  • Sustainable revenue streams

  • Community-led awareness

  • Cultural relevance

  • Measurable engagement

The result is a 2026 roadmap designed to increase both reach and impact without overextending resources.

Reclaiming My Time: Turning Internal Culture Into Revenue and Reach

Most internal fundraisers rely on pressure. This one is built on participation.

“Reclaiming My Time” is a multi-week, team-based campaign running April through June that transforms staff into active brand ambassadors.

Instead of relying solely on sales, this model leverages:

  • Print-on-demand merchandise with zero upfront cost and no inventory risk

  • Social media amplification

  • Community engagement and relationship-building

  • Internal collaboration across departments

A gamified point system tracks performance across multiple touchpoints, not just dollars, encouraging creativity and ownership.

Strategic value:
This initiative does more than generate revenue. It builds internal marketing capacity, produces reusable content, and expands organic reach through trusted, peer-to-peer promotion.

Community role:
Support the campaign by purchasing merchandise, sharing content, and engaging with staff-led outreach.

Influencer Strategy: Replacing Ads With Trust

Traditional advertising has limitations, especially when trying to reach communities that are often underserved or overlooked.

In 2026, MASS is prioritizing a micro-influencer strategy with monthly activations designed to drive consistent visibility.

We are intentionally partnering with individuals who:

  • Already have trust within LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and nightlife communities

  • Create culturally relevant, authentic content

  • Influence behavior, not just impressions

Each partnership is structured to deliver:

  • Educational content around HIV prevention and testing

  • Visibility for night clinic services

  • On-site engagement at MASS programs and events

Strategic value:
This reduces reliance on paid ads while increasing conversion through relatability and trust.

Community role:
Engage with, share, and act on the content you see. Awareness only works if it leads to action.

Community Workshops: Education That Converts to Action

Awareness without access does not create change.

Our 2026 workshop series is designed to bridge that gap by creating low-barrier entry points into MASS services through education-first experiences.

Rather than traditional seminars, these workshops are:

  • Interactive

  • Culturally relevant

  • Community-centered

Topics will range from sexual health and PrEP education to mental wellness, harm reduction, and family-focused conversations.

Strategic value:
Workshops position MASS as more than a service provider. They establish us as a trusted, ongoing resource within the community.

Community role:
Attend, bring someone with you, or collaborate with us to host a workshop in your space.

Business Partnerships: Embedding MASS Into Everyday Spending

One of the most underutilized fundraising channels in nonprofit spaces is aligned local commerce.

In 2026, MASS is relaunching its Business Partnership Program to create consistent, low-friction revenue through community businesses.

The model is simple:

  • A business designates a product, service, or day

  • A percentage of revenue supports MASS

  • Both parties benefit from shared promotion

Strategic value:
This creates recurring revenue while increasing visibility in high-traffic, everyday environments such as restaurants, salons, fitness studios, and nightlife spaces.

Community role:
Choose to spend with intention. Support participating businesses and recommend new partners.

The Pose-Inspired Summer Ball: Culture as a Growth Channel

Events should do more than gather people. They should move culture.

Our ballroom-inspired summer event is a scaled, high-impact pilot designed to engage LGBTQ+ and nightlife communities in a way that feels authentic and relevant.

With a targeted capacity of 200 attendees, the event focuses on:

  • Cultural expression through ballroom elements

  • Integrated HIV awareness messaging

  • Strategic visibility for MASS services

Strategic value:
This allows MASS to test a culturally aligned fundraising model while building trust within key communities without the overhead of a large-scale production.

Community role:
Attend, bring your network, or explore table and sponsorship opportunities.

Food Truck Fundraising: Testing Scalable, Low-Lift Revenue Streams

Innovation does not always require complexity.

Our food truck pilot introduces a simple, repeatable model:

  • Vendors serve at MASS locations

  • MASS earns a flat fee per service date

  • Community members engage with services in a relaxed environment

Strategic value:
This model prioritizes consistency, visibility, and ease of execution, creating a foundation for future expansion.

Community role:
Show up, support vendors, and connect with MASS while you are there.

2026 Focus: Build, Test, Scale

Every initiative this year serves a clear purpose. Test what works, refine it, and build systems that can scale.

This includes:

  • Strengthening internal infrastructure

  • Expanding community-based visibility

  • Diversifying revenue streams

  • Building partnerships that extend beyond one-time engagement

Larger initiatives, such as the Car and Bike Show and a reimagined World AIDS Day Gala, are being intentionally positioned for future execution once the foundation is strong.

Call to Action: This Only Works If the Community Moves With Us

Here is the reality.

Awareness campaigns do not work without participation.
Programs do not grow without engagement.
Impact does not scale without community.

If MASS has ever supported you, someone you know, or your community, this is the moment to lean in.

Here is how to take action right now:

  • Attend an event or workshop

  • Purchase and share campaign merchandise

  • Support a participating business partner

  • Engage with and share our content

  • Invite someone to get tested

  • Partner with us as a business, sponsor, or collaborator

Every action creates momentum.

And momentum is what allows us to reach more people, reduce stigma, and expand access to care.

2026 is about doing what works, together.
