MASS wants to end food insecurity
for positive people in our community.

MASS has collaborated with other local organizations to provide food
to those in need weekly through our Harvest and food voucher program.

FOOD Voucher Program

The purpose of the MASS Food Voucher Program is to guide the administration of the Ryan White Part A (RWPA) Food Voucher Program/ Food Bank/ Home Delivered Meals (a support service under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009). The administration of Food Vouchers must be consistent with Ryan White Part A client eligibility criteria and the service category definition established by MASS.

MASS continues to work hard achieving our mission to assist in sustaining and improving health, protecting the dignity and encouraging independent living of people living with HIV/AIDS. Through this project MASS manages the provision of the Food Voucher Program throughout the Transitional Grant area to people who have HIV/AIDS and are eligible for Ryan White Part A services. MASS maintains and provides for clients an up-to-date resource listing for both the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank as well as the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia. Please note that services are limited due to current funding levels.

This service provides certificates/gift cards in increments of $25 based upon household composition. Certificates/gift cards may be redeemed for food at cooperating supermarkets such as:

  • ALDI
  • Farm Fresh
  • Walmart
  • Food Lion

Vouchers are provided from retailers who offer produce, meat, and dairy items, as well as personal hygiene items. Certificates/gift cards cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or firearms. Certificates/gift cards may not be redeemed for cash.
