The award-winning documentary, “parTyboi: Black Diamonds in Ice Castles,” delves into the kaleidoscopic world of crystal meth addiction and uses within queer communities of color. A Q&A with director Micheal Rice will be held after the screening. This is a free event.
parTyboi:black diamonds in ice castles focuses on methamphetamine addiction within the LGBTQ community of color and explores a drug epidemic that is affecting the lives of Black and Latino gay millennials at an alarming rate. The documentary focuses on the urgency to normalize conversations about HIV/AIDS prevention methods and also spotlights historical facts about the emergence of an underground culture that became the world-renowned ballroom scene.
